My name is Nicky Hales and I have been an early years and primary school teacher in Portsmouth and Hampshire for over 30 years.  I offer home tuition in English, maths, spelling and reading to children aged 4 to 11 years in the Chichester and Emsworth areas.
For many years I taught in a Hampshire school judged by Ofsted to be outstanding. During 2010-11 I have worked as a trained Reading Recovery teacher as a part of the Every Child A Reader (ECAR) project in Hampshire.
School inspectors also graded my lessons as outstanding.  In 2007 Ofsted said that I
…know the pupils very well, value them as individuals and have fostered an ethos of recognising and celebrating the successes of every child. This is reflected not just in excellent relationships but in the time and care taken to help pupils develop both academically and to flourish as confident, articulate and caring individuals.

I can support your child by offering the following tuition in your own home:

  • intensive lessons for entrance exams
  • early reading and writing skills for young children
  • maths lessons
  • spelling and handwriting lessons
I am  happy to travel to children’s homes or you can come to me if you prefer.
